Bunnies

Welcome to Bunnies
September 2024-25

Mrs Maleady is our teacher and the Seedling pathway lead.

Our TA's are:
           Sarah                                               Ann-Marie                                                 Lisa

Kirsty teaches us 'Understanding the World' on Friday mornings. This is when we have Forest School. Please send your child into school in appropriate outdoor clothing. We access Forest School in all weathers. Please send in a named pair of wellies for us to keep in school and if possible a named all in one wetsuit. Kirsty also teaches us all day on Thursdays.

Kirsty                     Rebecca supports in class on a Friday.

Bunnies will have lots of fun learning through play and continuous provision which are the key concepts of our Seedling pathway. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and our prime areas of learning will be the development of Communication and Language, Physical Development and Personal Social and Emotional Development which will all be prominent on our class timetable.

Pupils will also develop their skills within the EYFS specific areas of learning. They will be taught about Number and Numerical Patterns through fun and practical Maths play and learn about the world around them in our Understanding the World sessions. Interactive, sensory stories will be shared in Literacy, where we will focus our learning around reading and writing and developing those pre-literacy skills. Lots of messy play will occur in our Expressive Art and Design sessions, where the children will be creating with a range of materials and developing their imaginative and expressive skills through music, song and movements.

We will share our learning journey through daily updates via Dojo and half-term updates on the website, so keep a look-out!

Homework challenges and home reading books will give the children the opportunity to involve their families in their learning, and we can establish a positive home-school link together. This will begin after the children's settling in period.

I look forward to the academic year ahead and supporting all of our children with their first year of school.

Academic Year 24-25

Autumn 2 2024:

Our topic this half-term is 'Winter Wonderland.'  We will be learning skills linked to designing and making. We will design and make a product to sell at our whole school Winter Wonderland experience.

We also look forward to welcoming some more new children to Bunnies class and getting to know them.

Autumn 1 2024:

The first two school weeks in September will consist of home visits and stay and play sessions for the new children starting school. New starters have been provided with home visit and stay and play dates and times. Please see your transition paperwork.

This half-term we will focus on getting to know the children, learning about ourselves, building relationships and having fun with our topic 'Pottery & Sculpture'.
